Positive reinforcement should be tried to correct the dog's behavior. Dogs respond very well to treats and will perform the desired behavior when taught that they will receive a food treat in response to appropriate behavior. In addition, most dogs respond to positive praise since they want to please their owners, so using terms like "good boy" to reinforce good behavior can be highly effective.</span>
