I may be totally wrong, but from what I remember in Rome history, they started the republic in 509 BCE which caused them to overthrow their king <span>Lucius Tarquinius Superbus. This may have inspired American colonists and thinkers int he late 1700's to rebel against what King George was saying and start their own country. </span>

Yet, the Europeans were able to export their culture and knowledge around the world more than the Indians could. This allowed them to change the narrative and make it seem like they discovered a lot of things when in fact they didn't.
