area = bh / 2

Since you already know the area and height, the equation becomes:

150 = b(20) / 2

divide 150 by 20:

7.5

Now, multiply 7.5 by 2:

15

Now the equation is:

150 = (15)(20)/2

You can check your work by multiplying 15 by 20 and dividing the answer by 2 to insure that you get 150:

15 * 20 / 2 = 150

Your answer would be:

C. 15 cm

A circle with circumference 6 has an arc with a 20 degrees central angle. What is the length of the arc?
Arturiano [62]

Answer:

\frac{1}{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

So first calculate what fraction of the circumference the arc is.

\frac{20}{360}=\frac{1}{18}

Now the circumference is 6, so one eighteenth of that is \frac{1}{3}

Which logarithmic equation is equivalent to 82 = 64?
34kurt

Answer: Choice B

2 = \log_{8}(64)

======================================================

Explanation:

The original equation is 8^2 = 64 with 8 as the base. That is also the base of the log when we get the final answer shown above. Logs are useful to isolate the exponent.

The general rule is that \text{y} = b^{\text{x}} is equivalent to the log form of \text{x} = \log_{b}(\text{y}) where b is the base of each.

Four friends were born in consecutive years. The sum of their ages is 94. What is the age of the oldest friend?
Savatey [412]
Hello,

We don't need algebra to solve this.

I suppose the ages are 1,2,3,4
Their sum is 1+2+3+4=10.
To obtain 94 we must add 94-10=84 for 4 persons =>84/4=21 to each

Ages are
1+21=22
2+21=23
3+21=24
4+21=25

But if really want an algebric resolution:

Let's x the age of the youngest
x+1,x+2,x+3 the others.

x+(x+1)+(x+2)+(x+3)=94
==>4x+6=94
==>4x=88
==>x=22
Ages are 22,23,24,25.

The oldest friend is 25 years old.
