Drastic changes in environmental conditions can sometimes cause drastic changes to the gene pool of the population.

Genetic drift is a random change in allele frequencies that occurs in a small population. Because there are so few parents in small populations, the frequencies in the offspring produced may differ from allele frequencies in the parents. This can result in certain genes disappearing as individuals die, or do not reproduce. Natural disasters can wipe out certain individuals (or whole parts) of a population. When this happens, genetic drift is the result.

Describe each part of the geosphere including the parts that make up the lithosphere
snow_lady [41]

The geosphere is considered that portion of the Earth system that includes the Earth's interior, rocks and minerals, landforms and the processes that shape the Earth's surface. The geosphere may be taken as the collective name for the

  • hydrosphere (The hydrosphere is the liquid water component of the Earth. It includes the oceans, seas, lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams. The hydrosphere covers about 70% of the earth surface)
  • cryosphere (The cryosphere is the frozen water part of the Earth system. The Beaufort Sea, north of Alaska. One part of the cryosphere is ice that is found in water),
  • atmosphere( is a layer or a set of layers of gases surrounding a planet or other material body)
  • lithosphere is the substantial, outer part of the Earth. The lithosphere includes the brittle upper portion of the mantle and the crust, the outermost layers of Earth’s structure. It is bounded by the atmosphere above and the asthenosphere below. The lithosphere is further subdivided into tectonic plates. The lithosphere is the most rigid of Earth’s layers.

In many eukaryotic cells, DNA stored in the nucleus is transcribed into messenger RNA. The mRNA is then transported into the cyt
ki77a [65]

Answer:

The statement supported by the description of the process of protein synthesis determined by DNA and its packaging and sorted by the Golgi apparatus is that various organelles within a cell interact with each other to carry out life processes (option D).

Explanation:

From the transcription of RNA from DNA to protein synthesis and its packaging and distribution, the participation of organelles is observed:

  • Cell nucleus: contains the DNA and is where the transcription into mRNA occurs.
  • Ribosomes: where the mRNA is coupled to produce translation and protein synthesis.
  • Rough endoplasmic reticulum: contains ribosomes and participates in the process of membrane protein synthesis, also contributing to their conjugation, glycosylation or sulfonation.
  • Golgi apparatus: it is in charge of receiving synthesized proteins, packaging and distributing them to be sent to the extracellular space or other cells.

In this way, the coordination of the functions of various organelles is useful and necessary to fulfill vital functions. The statement that varoius organelles within the cell interact with each other to carry out life processes is, therefore, correct.

The options for this question are:

     A. Organelles within a cell act independently of each other at all times

     B. Some organelles are more important than other organelles within a cell.

    C. Only up to three organelles may interact with each other at any given moment in time.

    D. Various organelles within a cell interact with each other to carry out life processes.
