Some example sentences:
I did not want to walk to school today, for it was raining outside.
Fanboy-for, I did not want to walk to school today-Independent clause 1, it was raining outside-Independent clause 2
All of these sentences follow the same structure:
I want to adopt a dog, but they are a lot of work.
I wanted to stay separated from the group, so my teacher let me stay by myself.
We can go to the movies, or we can go to the amusement park.
I want to get ice cream, and I want to get coffee.
Pretty much any sentence like this will work.
