FIgurative language is a writing that's not meant to be taken literally, but rather to put things into perspective.
For example, if you drop coffee on yourself, and you say that the coffee is as hot as the sun, you're using a simile, an example of figurative language, and that's not meant to be taken literally- it's an exaggeration.
Hope this helps!

The best option to the answer would be choice "D". 'Writing not meant to be interpreted literally.'

If I used personification, (a form of figurative language), "The moon shined his bright eyes at me." That isn't true, the moon doesn't actually have eyes. The moon just shined- and maybe the craters on the moon looked like eyes.

I hope this helped you!

iris [78.8K]
“About Mars” is the Adjective Phrase.

Adjective phrase describes “what kind of which ones”

So for example here

“After school, I looked for books about Mars.”

“About Mars” describes the kind of books so that makes it an Adjective phrase.

I hope this helps.
