He was the first president from the West. He was the first president who came from the working class. He had a more limited education than previous presidents. Because of his direct campaigning, he had more support among “common men” than previous presidents. He disliked the power of the “Eastern aristocracy.”

Jackson was a "common" oar humble man, he did not come from wealth and grew up without a father, this separated him from the previous presidents and made him stand out. Besides, Jackson was a pow during the revolutionary war, he was a war hero.

What was the economic effect of the Great Depression on America’s farmers?
KiRa [710]
Farmers were probably the hardest hit group of people during the Great Depression. They were already having a tough time from the 1920's because during WWl, they had been making record numbers of crops that were being sent over seas, but once the war ended they ended up with a surplus which dropped the price of wheat and farmers could hardly make a living. Farmers had also bought tractors and farm equipment with an installment plan, which means they buy now and pay later. This caused many farmers to go into debt because once the depression hit they no longer could afford to pay them off. To make matters worse, unsafe farming practices, like not rotating crops, cause the top soil to blow off and huge dust storms, called the Dust Bowl occurred making life miserable for farmers and their families.

i need help. i'll give brainliest. Write a short biographical paragraph about either John Brown, Dred Scott, or Steven Douglas.
sergejj [24]

Before embarking on the series of court cases that argued for his freedom, Scott’s life was the rootless existence typical of many slaves. Born around 1799 in Virginia, he moved with his owner Peter Blow to Alabama and eventually to St. Louis, where he was sold to U.S. Army Dr. John Emerson in the early 1830s.

Like many antebellum officers, Emerson was transferred from post to post through Western states and territories. During those journeys, Scott married a slave woman named Harriet Robinson in 1836. When Emerson died in 1843, Scott, by then the father of two children, likely hoped the doctor’s will would manumit him—and his family—but it did not. Scott then offered Emerson’s brother-in-law and executor, J.A. Sanford, $300 hoping to buy his own freedom. But the offer was turned down. Scott decided to take the matter to the courts.

By 1846, Scott was living in St. Louis in service to Emerson’s widow. He filed suit with the state of Missouri, claiming that since he had lived with Emerson in Illinois—where slavery was outlawed by the 1787 Northwest Ordinance—and Fort Snelling in Minnesota—where the Missouri Compromise outlawed slavery in 1820—he was entitled to his freedom. In an interesting twist, the children of Peter Blow, Scott’s first owner, provided the slave family financial assistance.
