Because the rivers helped them with farming, they drank water from the river, and fished for food as well as a way of transportation.

Mostly because of the cheap workforce. For example, an Ipad produced in the US would cost much much more because the workers would ask for much much higher wages due to the higher standard of living. In many SEA regions the standard is lower so people also receive much much less money for doing the same work.

Explanation:

Agriculture is one of Georgia's largest industries and it is heavily reliant on migrant labor to do things like harvesting blueberries, onions and melons to name just a few.

Limited immigration would prevent the flow of these immigrants into the state which means that there would be less immigrants to do the harvesting and other agricultural related things. A major effect of this is that at a worst case scenario, this would cost Georgia millions if the crops are not picked on time.

A high tariff would protect the North and its manufacturing industry, that was growing, from the English competition.

The South was the part of the States that kept black slaves as labor. The Civil War was mainly about it.

The North had the first private schools in the country. The Southerns used to hire private tutors and the westerns weren't known for their education.

Slaves worked for no pay and the South had plenty of cotton plantations.
