The vertex is (0, 6) and the axis of symmetry is x = 0, or the y-axis.

To find the vertex, you can quickly change it to vertex form.

y= 2(x - 0)^2 + 6, the vertex can be seen as (0, 6).

The axis of symmetry is always the x value through the x-coordinate of the vertex.
