Ok, first off can I just tell you how much I love Percy Jackson! ok anyways I think that Poseidon is very proud of Percy and believes in him because he says "You did well, Perseus. Do not misunderstand me. Whatever else you do, know that you are mine. You are a true son of the Sea God."

I think Percy didn't petrify Gabe when he had the chance because he respected his mom and he wanted her to be the one that has a say, after all it was her relationship. I don't know about you but I might have done the same thing and waited to give him one more change before i finished him off
