Answer:

B. All citizens, even women, are guaranteed the right to vote

Explanation:

She says it herself in the speech:

<em>"Friends and fellow citizens: I stand before you tonight under indictment for the alleged crime of having voted at the last presidential election, without having a lawful right to vote. It shall be my work this evening to prove to you that in thus voting, I not only committed no crime, but, instead, simply exercised my citizen's rights, guaranteed to me and all United States citizens by the National Constitution, beyond the power of any state to deny"</em>

<em />

Susan was a Woman's Suffrage activist and her goal was to raise awareness of the unconstitutionality and unfairness of forbidding women to vote

What was the solution to the debate over the slave status of new territories in the Kansas-Nebraska Act?
seraphim [82]

Answer: Popular Sovereignty

Explanation:

Prior to the Kansas-Nebraska Act, the slave status of a new territory would be decided by the Missouri Compromise which based the state's slave status on geographical location as it prohibited slavery in states to the North of the 36°30′ parallel (excluding Missouri).

In 1854 however, a bill that would later be known as the Kansas-Nebraska Act was introduced to Congress by Sen. Stephen A. Douglas who hoped to gain support from Southern politicians for a state to be established on land gained from the Louisiana purchase.

The bill called for the status of a state to be decided by Popular Sovereignty which essentially meant that the people of the state would decide whether or not they wanted to be a free state instead of Congress as had previously been the case.

With this act therefore, the new territories would decide their status by themselves.

The character sketch of madame sofronie
yan [13]

Answer:

Madame Sofronie owns the hair shop to which Della sells her hair. She’s described as “large, too white, chilly,” and her manner with Della is brusque and to the point. She wastes no time evaluating Della’s hair and setting a price—twenty dollars. Her manner directly contrasts that of Della and Jim, who value their love and sentiment over material value. For Della, her hair is something special and prized. For Madame Sofronie, her hair is worth the dollar value she can get out of it.
