I need to figure out what is the surface area

This is a square-based pyramid

And the formula for the surface area of a pyramid is:
A = Area of base + $\frac{1}{2}$ × Perimeter × slant height
   = side² + $\frac{1}{2}$ × P × l
   = (6)² + $\frac{1}{2}$ × ( 4 × 6 ) × 8
   = 36 + 96
   = 132 cm²

Or add the area of each shape
4 triangles 
1 square

Area of square = side²
                        = (6)²
                         = 36 cm²

Area of one triangle = $\frac{1}{2}$ × base × height
                                 =$\frac{1}{2}$ × 6 × 8
                                 = 24 cm²

Area of four triangles = 4 × area of one triangle
                                   = 4 × 24
                                   =96 cm²

Add both areas:
 Area of square + Area of triangles
36 cm² + 96 cm² = 132 cm²

B. 132 cm²
