How do the federal and unitary systems of government differ? The federal system is only used by democracies, while the unitary s

ystem is only used by authoritarian governments. The federal system divides power among a central government and smaller political units like states, while the unitary system has a central government that is supreme and its power is undivided. The federal system establishes a weak central government with little real power, while the unitary system creates smaller political units with a great deal of power. The federal system is one in which the central government can dissolve smaller political units, while the unitary system is one in which the central government cannot take power from smaller units.

The schism between the Eastern and Western Churches was provoked by Select one:
balu736 [363]

Answer:

The right answer is:

d. linguistic, theological, and cultural differences.

Explanation:

In 1054 AD, the year of the schism of Christianity, many differences and contradictions had accumulated. The theology of the Eastern Church was based on Greek philosophy, while the Roman Church´s theology was based on Roman law. Here was a source of misunderstandings, particularly around a fundamental doctrine: the emanation of the Holy Spirit from the Father. The Orthodox Church also questioned the enforcement of celibacy by Rome, the exclusive right of bishops to administer confirmations and the presence of unleavened bread in the Eucharist. Political rivalries and interests also played a role in this division that continues until today.

Marta_Voda [28]

Answer:

Slavery was so profitable, it sprouted more millionaires per capita in the Mississippi River valley than anywhere in the nation. With cash crops of tobacco, cotton and sugar cane, America's southern states became the economic engine of the burgeoning nation. Their fuel of choice? Human slavery. Under the law, an enslaved person was treated as property and could be bought, sold, or given away. Slavery lasted in about half of U.S. states until 1865. As an economic system, slavery was largely replaced by sharecropping and convict leasing.

Slavery had been practiced in British America from early colonial days, and was legal in all thirteen colonies at the time those colonies formed the United States. Under the law, an enslaved person was treated as property and could be bought, sold, or given away. Slavery lasted in about half of U.S. states until 1865.The first 19 or so Africans to reach the British colonies arrived in Point Comfort, Virginia, near Jamestown, in 1619, brought by British privateers who had seized them from a captured Portuguese slave ship. Slaves were usually baptized in Africa before embarking.

Just one month after writing this letter, Lincoln issued his preliminary Emancipation Proclamation, which announced that at the beginning of 1863, he would use his war powers to free all slaves in states still in rebellion as they came under Union control.
