Why do you think gladiatorial contests and public games were so popular among ancient Romans?
tatuchka [14]

Personally, I think it's because it was simple and free entertainment. Given that there wasn't a taboo around death and watching others die, and it actually being encouraged, like how it was in Anciient Rome, I'd say a lot of people would actually at least try out visiting a gladiatorial contest.

Which Native language used a syllabary to write and print books and newspapers in the 1800s?
mr Goodwill [35]

Answer:

Cherokee

Explanation:

The Cherokee syllabary is a syllabary invented by Sequoyah in the late 1810s and early 1820s to write the Cherokee language. From 1828 to 1834, American missionaries assisted the Cherokee in using Sequoyah's syllabary to develop type characters and print the Cherokee Phoenix, the first newspaper of the Cherokee Nation, with text in both Cherokee and English.s, but his system later developed into a syllabary.
