Answer: Ethos

An appeal to ethos is one that references morality and ethical values. In this case, the author claims that no one wanted to burn the book Emma. People refused to do it because they believed that this book concentrated too much history, respect and the values of civilization. These arguments are not objective facts or emotional pleas. Instead, they force the reader to ponder on the ethical implications of destroying something so valuable for civilization.

What is the meaning of "Jem had no firm basis for his ideas, he said it was merely a twitch." in chapter 8 of tkam?
erma4kov [3.2K]

The meaning of "Jem had no firm basis for his ideas, he said it was merely a twitch." in chapter 8 in TKAM is that Jem just said what he said as a spur of the moment without a solid plan.

What happened in To Kill a Mockingbird?

This refers to the story that occurred in a very racist town when a lawyer Tom Sawyer decided to defend a black man accused of a crime and his family began to be attacked by his decision to defend the black man.

Hence, it can be seen that Jem was his child and did not have any firm basis for the idea which he said, but they just came out of his mouth, and was so scared the next day.

Romeo and juliet question!! please help ^^
erik [133]

Answer:

The lines that foreshadow Romeo's tragic end are found in option 4:

O God, I have an ill-diving soul!

Methinks I see thee, now thou art below,

As one dead in the bottom of a tom

Either my eyesight fails, or thou look'st pale!

Explanation:

"Romeo and Juliet" is a famous tragic play by William Shakespeare in which two young lovers die due to the rivalry between their families. At several points in the play, Shakespeare uses foreshadowing to reveal the tragic ends that await the characters. Foreshadowing is a technique in which a piece of information is given to the audience that will later unfold into something important, however trivial it looked at the beginning. The lines above are said by Juliet, and she seems to be aware of her own ability to predict. She looks at Romeo and sees a dead body, which foreshadows his end.
