The development of cities around urban centers was a gradual process rather than a well-defined event. Cities and villages & towns differ in two ways. First, cities were larger and more complex. Professional craft workers refined existing technologies, invented new ones, and raised levels of quality and production. Second, Neolithic villages & towns served the needs of their inhabitants and immediate neighbors, whereas cities decisively influenced the political, economic, and cultural life of large regions.

Question 6(Multiple Choice Worth 5 points) (4.05 LC) Which democratic process do political parties lead? Candidate nominations C
monitta

Answer: The democratic process led by political parties are candidate nominations. They nominate those representants to be voted by the population and, therefore, represent the voters on the Congress. The nomination, however, is not direct: they support some candidates on their propaganda financially as a suggestion for voters, giving those specific candidates more strenght and visibility.

People have had both positive and negative reactions to Angela's Ashes. Why do you think people have reacted so strongly to McCo
Sophie [7]

Answer:

Because his memories present very strong and impacting concepts, but controversial at the same time.

Explanation:

Angela's Ashes is a book that tells the memories of McCourt during his childhood and adolescence. His memories depict very strong and uncomfortable situations to be experienced, such as negligent parents, depression, alcoholism, extreme poverty, exploitation, sexual experiences, poor self-esteem, among others.

The experiences lived by McCourt are not comfortable to be read. Some people think that this is a positive point of the book's narrative, because it shows how dirty and uncomfortable human life is. However, many people criticize this type of narrative, because they claim that it is exaggerated and that it suffers from suffering. In addition, many people, like McCourt's mother, claim that these memories are false and fanciful, which increases the discrepancy of opinion among readers.
