The Crusaders reconquered parts of Anatolia, captured Jerusalem, and returned the land they conquered in Anatolia to the Byzantine Empire. Which in turn led the fall of the Byzantine Empire.

It caused the death of the most able and respected Byzantine emperor, Leo III.

It left Constantinople permanently damaged after the crusaders looted all the valuables.

It led to large-scale conflicts which broke out between military forces and Byzantine civilians.

It unleashed a terrible plague on Constantinople, drastically reducing its population and causing mass death
