<span>y= 2^2 − 5x is linear.  2^2 is just a constant.  The x in 5x has the power 1.

y = x/3 is linear.  Think of it as y = (1/3)x.  Again, we have the 1st power of x.

y = x^3 + 1/3 is nonlinear.  It's a cubic.  Note the 3rd power of x.</span>

Y=5x-4 is linear

y=x/3 is linear

y=x^3+1/3 is non linear

Basically linear means it is a straight line when graphed. So anything with exponts is non linear by default among some other rules for determining linear or nonlinear  Hope this helps! Please rate my answer and help me also! Thank YOU!!!!!:)

A national hockey league rink is 115 feet longer than it is wide. If the perimeter of the rink is 570 feet, find the dimensions
ivolga24 [154]

The length of hockey rink is 200 feet and width of hockey rink is 85 feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Perimeter of hockey rink = 570 feet

Width of hockey rink = w

Length of hockey rink = w+115

As a hockey rink is in rectangular shape;

Perimeter of rink = 2(Length + Width)

570=2(w+115+w)\\570=2(2w+115)\\570=4w+230\\570-230=4w\\340=4w\\4w=340

Dividing both sides by 4

\frac{4w}{4}=\frac{340}{4}\\w=85

Width of hockey rink = 85 feet

Length of hockey rink = 85+115 = 200 feet

The length of hockey rink is 200 feet and width of hockey rink is 85 feet.

The probability distribution for a game is shown in the table below.
nydimaria [60]

Given:

It is given that

Probability of winning $ 0 = \frac{3}{10}

Probability of winning $ 100 = \frac{1}{5}

Probability of winning $ 200 = \frac{1}{10}

Probability of winning $ 500 = \frac{2}{5}

To find the probability of not winning a cash prize.

Explanation:

Not winning cash prize = winning $ 0

So,

Probability of not winning a cash prize

= Probability of winning $ 0

= \frac{3}{10}

Therefore,

The probability of not winning a cash prize is \frac{3}{10}. Option D.
