Answer:

x = 20

y= 25

Step-by-step explanation:

to evaluate this system of equation using substitution method , we would say that let

Y=x+5 ............................................................equation 1

3x-2y=10........................................................ equation 2

substitute for eqution 1 into equation 2

3x - 2y = 10

3x -2(x + 5) = 10

3x -2x -10 = 10

collect the like terms

3x - 2x = 10 + 10

x = 20

put the value of x = 20 into equation  1

Y=x+5 ............................................................equation 1

y = 20 + 5

y = 25

therefore the value of x and  y  are 20 and 25 respectively

Resident always seems to have a dirty truck his girlfriend gave him a gift card to car wash after three carwashes rest at 61.75
Llana [10]
I’m thinking it’s $100. I guessed 100 first as that is a pretty common number and subtracted 61.75. I was left with 38.25 and I divided that by 3, the amount of washes. I got $12.75 but I had to check since I guessed 100. I then subtracted 23.50 from 100 and got 76.5. I divided that by 6, the amount of washes, and got 12.75 again. So I’m pretty sure that there was $100 on the gift card before he washes his car six times, each wash being $12.75.

Consider functions f and g.
MissTica

A function assigns the values. The sum of the two function will be equal to 3[√(x-3) + 5].

<h3>What is a Function?</h3>

A function assigns the value of each element of one set to the other specific element of another set.

Given f(x)=√(x-3) and g(x)=[√(4x-12)]+15, therefore, the sum of the two function will be written as,

(f+g)(x)= \sqrt{x-3} + \sqrt{4x-12}+15\\\\

                 = \sqrt{x-3} + \sqrt{4(x-3)}+3(5)\\\\ = \sqrt{x-3} + 2\sqrt{(x-3)}+3(5)\\\\= 3\sqrt{(x-3)}+3(5)\\\\ = 3[\sqrt{(x-3)}+5]

Hence, the sum of the two function will be equal to 3[√(x-3) + 5].
