The correct answer is D.

The Warsaw Pact was a treaty signed in Warsaw, Poland, in May 1955.

It was a collective defense treaty signed between the Soviet Union and its seven satellites states of Central and Eastern Europe. The pact was created as reaction to the integration of West Germany into NATO.

Hungary became a member of the Warsaw Pact; since the end of the Second World War Russian troops had been stationed there. Other members of the Warsaw Pact were : Soviet Union, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Poland and Romania.

In the year 1990, The Hungarian Parliament voted unanimously to withdraw from the Warsaw Pact by the end of 1991. Hungary was the first member of the Pact to vote to withdraw.
