What happens during anaphase II of meiosis? The nuclear membrane begins to form around haploid sets of chromosomes. Homologous c

hromosomes separate, but sister chromatids remain joined at their centromeres. Sister chromatids are distributed in a single layer across the center of the cell. Homologous chromosomes are randomly arranged in the middle of the cell. Sister chromatids separate from each other and migrate to opposite ends of the cell. Homologous chromosomes form, and crossing over occurs between them.

Answer:

The option that says: Sister chromatids separate from each other and migrate to opposite ends of the cell.

Explanation:

This question wants to test us on a very interesting part in genetics that is Cell Cycle, Mitosis and Meiosis.

In mitosis, the cell divide to produce or generate two daughter cells that has the identical genetic infomation just as the one in the parent cell. After mitosis, we have Cytokinesis.

For meiosis, it is divided into two that is meiosis I and meiosis II. Meiosis I is about the separation of homologous chromosomes pairs while meiosis II is about the separation of chromosome into two chromatids.

In anaphase II of meiosis, "Sister chromatids separate from each other and migrate to opposite ends of the cell" after the division of the centromere.

Marfan syndrome is a rare disease of the connective tissue, which affects different structures, including skeleton, lungs, eyes, heart and blood vessels.

It is characterized by an unusual increase in limb length. It is believed to affect one in 5,000 people. Unlike other genetic problems, it does not negatively affect intelligence.

Explain how changes in the DNA sequences will impact the expression of genes.
mamaluj [8]

Ans.

DNA acts as genetic material in all living organisms that store and transmit genetic information from one to next generation. DNA sequence carries instructions for the expression of genes to make proteins, responsible for different phenotypic characters of individuals.

The DNA, first synthesizes mRNA molecule that carry information for the protein synthesis, in the form of codons and code for a specific polypeptide chain or protein.

The sequence present in DNA determines the amino acid sequence in protein encoded by the DNA. Change in DNA sequence affects gene expression as it leads to change in mRNA sequence, and thus, change in sequence of amino acid of the resulting protein.
