In the Battle of the Alamo, James  Fannin played the role as he tried to reinforce the mission with 300 men, but  had to return to Goliad.

One of the important events of Texas Revolution was Battle of Alamo which took place during February to march 1836 between the Republics of Mexico and Texas. In this battle, Mexicans declared their victory by killing the Texas force in the Alamo fort in San Antonio.

Col. James Fannin tried to reinforce the mission when the news of siege had spread in the Texas. He called for 320 troops, 4 canons and wagons to move towards Alamo but they barely travelled 1 mile when they had to return back to Goliad.
