Use the ratio of a 30-60-90 with the side opposite the 90 degree angle is 2x, the side opposite the 30 degree angle is x and the side opposite the 60 degree angle is x sqrt 3.If BC is 2 and angle CBD is 60 degrees, then angle DCB is 30 degrees. Therefore the side opposite the hypotenuse of BC is 1 (half of BC) and the side opposite the 60 degree angle is 1sqrt 3 or just sqrt 3.

Joseph has a collection of stickers. When the stickers are aranged in piles of 3, there are 2 stickers left over. When the stick
Elodia [21]

Answer:

2 stickers will be left over

Step-by-step explanation:

To answer the question, all you need to do is figure out at what value of stickers would the remaining stickers be equal to 2 if the piles are made up of either 3 to a set or 4 to a set. To do this, we need to figure out the size of the whole set of stickers.

Lets assume that the total number of stickers is 14. Lets test the 2 given conditions. If we divide it in piles of 3 then we will have a pile of 12 stickers (4 piles of 3 stickers each) with 2 stickers remaining.

Lets test the second condition. If we divide it in piles of 4, we will again have 12 stickers (3 piles of 4 stickers each) with 2 stickers remaining.

Now that both conditions have been satisfied, all we have to do is see how many stickers are left if we make a pile of 12 stickers. In this case, we will have just one pile of 12 stickers and, again, we will be left with 2 stickers.

Therefore, the answer is 2 stickers

The area of a trapezium is 550 cm2 and the length of the parallel sides is 23cm and 27cm, find the distance between them.
ryzh [129]

Answer: 22 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Formula for area of trapezium: Area = \dfrac12 (\text{Sum of parallel sides})\times \text{(Distance between them)}

Given: Area = 550\ cm^2

Length of parallel sides : 23 cm and 27 cm

Let h=distance beteen them.

then

550=\dfrac12 (23+27)(h)\\\\\Rightarrow\ 550=\dfrac12(50)h\\\\\Rightarrow\ 550=25h\\\\\Rightarrow\ h=\dfrac{550}{25}\\\\\Rightarrow\ h= 22

Hence, the distance between them  = 22 cm.

The first of two films lasted 3 minutes less than twice as long as the second. Together the two films lasted 132 minutes. How lo
antiseptic1488 [7]
X = first film....y = second film

x + y = 132
x = 2y - 3

2y - 3 + y = 132
3y - 3 = 132
3y = 132 + 3
3y = 135
y = 135/3
y = 45......so the 2nd film lasted 45 minutes

x = 2y - 3
x = 2(45) - 3
x = 90 - 3
x = 87 <=== the first film lasted 87 minutes
