There are eight characteristics that all civilizations in the world share: advanced cities, well-organized government, distinct social classes, writing, art and architecture, public works, job specialization, religion.

Four significant factors that would be involved in the construction of a large public project would be:

Well-organized government: The government would need to finance the project, hire the workers and manage the construction.

Writing: All the documents (permits, plans, etc.) regarding the project would need to be written down.

Job specialization: You would need workers who know about specific types of jobs, and the work would be divided by specialization.

Art and architecture: The building would be designed according to the society’s beauty standards of architecture.

Which is one reason that factory work was dangerous in the 1800s?
hodyreva [135]

C) Most machines had few safety features.

Machines of the Industrial Era lacked any safety features that would prevent bodily harm to the workers.

Workers in factories faced machines with open moving parts that workers could get caught in. Workers lost digits and limbs in machines leaving them unable to work. Children were often hurt going under machines to pick up pieces that had fallen. The meatpacking industry was particularly dangerous with open grinders. Mining also posed threats to falling in a shaft or mines falling in on miners. The factories also lacked ventilation, open doors, fire stairs, and other safety features that are now common.
