a) After Jeff talked to his brother about the project, he went home.

In sentence a, there is a pronoun reference (REF) problem. Pronouns are used to stand for or to take the place of a noun and they should clearly refer to that noun (the antecedent).

When pronoun reference is faulty, there is a pronoun reference problem just as in sentence a. In this sentence, it is not possible to know whether the pronoun refers to Jeff or to his brother.

2. PART A: What does paragraph 6 reveal about the
sattari [20]

The correct answer is D; The third person narrator views Scrooge critically.

Further Explanation:

In the 6th paragraph of "A Christmas Carol" the narrator is speaking about Scrooge critically. He does not view Scrooge with any type of sympathy. It is more of contempt of his character.

Here is a list of a few things the narrator speaks of Scrooge;

 • "a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous old sinner!"
 • " he iced his office in the dog-days; and didn’t thaw it one degree at Christmas. "
 • "spoke out shrewdly in his grating voice."

You can determine that it is a third person narrator by the way they speak with the words he and they.
