Answer:

Whereas race is mostly defined and determined by physical characteristics, ethnicity is considered to be more about a person's culture, language, family and place of origin. (Nationalities are thrown into the mix, too.) Examples of ethnicity include being Indian, Jewish or Asian, regardless of race

How did the United States rise to superpower status after World War II?
sattari [20]
So much of America's power comes from its size: it is one the largest countries on Earth by population and area, and is rich in natural resources and human capital. It is also in many ways an island nation; because it faces no major threats on its borders, it is freer to project power globally.

Where did the united states send troops after japans invasion of indochina
PSYCHO15rus [73]

The United States had as its first reaction the freezing of the accounts of the Japanese in America, the suspension of commercial activities and the shipment of supplies, as England did, this would block the entry of money and oil from abroad and economically suffocate the empire of Japan that would scarcely have 3 years of supply, if it did not enter into war, this infuriated the Japanese who would then attack Pearl Harbor and cause the sending of American troops to South Vietnam, participating in a war, that at first, it didn´t correspond to them.

Describe the events that preceded and led to the partition of India. What were the effects of partition on India and Pakistan?
natita [175]

The events that led to the division of British India into India and Pakistan was a method the British had to secure how independence would take place. The British government had a system of political control of “divide and rule” and because of that, this strategy was perfect.

Muslims were 25% of British India’s population, therefore a religious minority. They were afraid of losing protection as the independence of India got closer.

With the approach of WWII, things got even worse, since the British took India into the war without consultation of the population or the legislative, this caused even more pressure for independence and the creation of a separate state.

The separation between India and Pakistan caused riots, mass casualties, a wave of migration - Muslims headed towards Pakistan and Hindus and Sikhs headed into India -, and a death toll of 2 million people.
