Abortion is a grim thing to do, but it may be important in some cases. Foe example, if the fetus taking a deathly toll on the mothers body, and is killing both of them, in order to save them, it would be smarter to have an abortion. This can be compared to The Trolley problem, kill one to save more people. It would be better to abort a fetus, them have the fetus and the mother die. Another example is if the mother is a victim of sexual assault, and the pregnancy would be a painful reminder of the incident, therefore in some cases, causing the mother to have hatred or resentment towards the child. My last argument would be if the child has a disease that could greatly affect his or her life, such as cerebral palsy, which causes immobility of the muscles and bones. If the parent does not wish to bring a life of being completely immobile and unable to live a normal life, or simply does not have the financial means to care for the child properly, an abortion may be considered.

I hope some of these help, I know this is a sensitive topic, and a lot of people are not comfortable with it, but it needs to be said. You are brave asking for help. Hope this helps!

What type of context clue in the sentence can be used to determine the meaning of guile?
valkas [14]

The type of context clues used the sentence that can help us determine the meaning of "guile" is an antonym clue, as further explained below.

What are context clues?

We can define context clues as pieces of information provided by authors in their text that help us figure out the meaning of new and unfamiliar words. Examples of context clues are:

 • Synonyms
 • Antonyms
 • Examples
 • Inferences
 • Definitions

In the sentence "Andrea's opponent was honest and straightforward, but Andrea used her guile to win the contest," we can determine the meaning of "guile" by using an antonym context clue.

Antonyms are words that have opposite meanings and, in the sentence, "guile" has the opposite meaning of "honest" and "straightforward." We know that because the author uses the word "but" when comparing Andrea to her opponent.

With the information above in mind, we can conclude that the answer provided is correct.

The missing sentence is the following:

Andrea's opponent was honest and straightforward, but Andrea used her guile to win the contest.
