Evolution is the process of genetic change from one generation to the next and may be caused by several methods. In essence, evolution occurs when some individuals or some alleles (gene types) reproduce themselves more than others, increasing their prevalence in subsequent generations.

What portion of the molecule in model 1 is responsible for the phospho- part of the structure?
Alex17521 [72]
Attached is the image to which model 1 refers to. I found the exercise on the internet.

The phospho part of the the structure is the one with the phosphate group (PO_{4}³⁻): one atom of phosphorous (P) with four atoms of oxygen (O) attached. It has various functions depending on which biological molecule is present.

(50 points) And Brainliest! Over many years of separation, imagine how the population could have changed.
Nonamiya [84]
Evolution is a change in physical or psychological characteristics of a species over several generations. This change of characteristics is often brought upon by environmental distortion through the process of natural selection. A variation could include having different colors or for a bird wider Beak. In a dark environment those with darker colors would have an easier time surviving than those with lighter colors. In a forest where there are only hard seeds, a bird with a wider beak will have an easier time breaking those seeds than those who don’t. Those more advantageous traits will help those creatures survive better in their environment and pass on their genes unlike those don’t have useful or straight up disadvantageous traits will struggle to survive or just go extinct. Over a couple of generation only the with those useful traits will be left.

Here is an example let’s say that there were large amount of bears with black fur living in a deciduous forest environment. There are also a very small number of bears with white fur also living there. The black bears would have a clear advantage over the white bear when it comes to catching prey as they can camouflage and since they are bears if winter hits they go into hibernation so having white fur wouldn’t help as the whole point is to grow fat and go to sleep. Now let’s say an ice age happens, those bears who are out of hibernation have to deal with a cold environment all year long. Now that black fur that help those black bears thrive by Camouflage are now a clear give away but white bear can blend in perfectly with their environment allowing them to hunt. Over a few generations the majority of the bear population wouldn’t be black but white.

The observed van't Hoff factor for an electrolyte is less than the expected factor because of __________. Select one: a. electro
oee [108]

Answer:

d. ion pairing

Explanation:

  • The measure of the effect of a solute upon the colligative properties of a solution is known as the Van't Hoff factor.
  • Mathematically, the ratio between the actual concentration of particles produced when the substance is dissolved and the concentration of a substance as calculated from its mass is the Van't Hoff factor.
  • If we consider the electrolytes than the Van't Hoff factor should be equal to the number of discrete ions in a formula unit of the substance, however, this is not true and the van't Hoff factor is always less than the expected value as ion-pairing takes place in the solutions.
  • Ion pairing takes place when ions of opposite electrical charge come together in solution and form a distinct chemical entity.
