Todd's friend Olivia is flying her stunt plane at an elevation of 6.3 km. From the ground, Todd sees the plane moving directly t
topjm [15]
 So the plane of Olivia travels from west to east with an elevation of 6.3 km. To summarize everything and to get the speed of the plane, I used the Angle Side Angle Triangle Theorem and also the law of sine and the formula would be the following:

First is to get the distance traveled by the plane within the range of 3 minutes. To get that distance you must get the following variable.

total distance = distance travel from west to Todds position + distance traveled from Todds position to the reach of the elevation

Dt = D1 + D2

first is getting the D1

D1 = sin41 (6.3) / sin 49
(by following the law of sine and the angles is based on the triangle)
D1 = 5.477 km

then get D2,
D2 = 6.3 sin 65 / sin 25
D2 = 13.510

After that get the total distance

Dt = D1 + D2
Dt = 18.987 km

To get the speed of the plane, you must divide the distance to the time (in minutes) then multiply it by 60 to make it as an hour.

Speed = 18.987 /3 * 60 = 379.74 km/hr

A student's grades in the three tests in College Algebra are 85, 60, and 69. a) How many points does the student need on the fin
Anastaziya [24]

Answer:

(a) The student need 82 points on the final to average 74.

(b) The student must score 41 points on the final, assuming that the final carries double the weight.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that a student's grades in the three tests in College Algebra are 85, 60, and 69.

As we know that the formula for calculating the average of numbers is given by;

          Average (Mean)  =  \frac{\text{Sum of all values}}{\text{Number of observations}}

(a) Let the points student need on the final test to average 74 be 'x'.

So, Average of all four test  =  \frac{85+60+69+x}{4}

                     74 = \frac{85+60+69+x}{4}

                     74 = \frac{214+x}{4}

                     214+x =74 \times 4

                      x = 296-214

                        x=82

Hence, the student needs 82 points on the final to average 74.

(b) It is given that the final carries double the weight, this means that let the points student need on the final test to average 74 be '2x'.

So, Average of all four test  =  \frac{85+60+69+2x}{4}

                     74 = \frac{85+60+69+2x}{4}

                     74 = \frac{214+2x}{4}

                     214+2x =74 \times 4

                      2x = 296-214

                        x=\frac{82}{2} = 41

Hence, the student must score on the final 41 points, assuming that the final carries double the weight.
