Hands-on Activity: Model of a Community There are many issues, such as new neighborhoods, infrastructure improvements, and trans
portation issues that a planner must contend with, especially as populations increase and commuting becomes necessary. Explore the occupation of a planner and then consider what an ideal community would look like. Evaluate how to arrange all of the necessary aspects of life—home, work, school, shopping, entertainment, etc.—and create a model of that community. Select one of the following methods to submit your assignment: Make a 3-D model using found objects and other craft items. Take a picture and upload the assignment. Create a drawing of the ideal community, labeling all of the objects, and then take a picture and upload the assignment. Use a computer program such as Microsoft Word to generate a model community and then attach the file. Be sure to label the objects.
