In a spaceship far from the reaches of gravity, under what conditions could you feel as if the spaceship were station- ary on Ea
Sergio [31]

Answer:

constant acceleration of 9.81 m/s^2 against the weight of the person standing in spaceship.

Explanation:

- At earth surface we would feel a gravitational pull of g = 9.81 m/s^2 downwards.

- For anyone on spaceship to feel the same pull the spaceship needs to accelerate upwards at a constant acceleration of a = 9.81 m/s^2.

- The effect of "weightlessness" is removed such that the contact force between the person on the space-ship and the person him or herself is equal to the apparent weight of the person.

- If the spaceship accelerates constantly at 9.81 m/s^2,  the apparent weight of the person would equal the actual weight on earth.

Why is the parent rock a unique identifier for metamorphic rock types, but is not used to identify sedimentary or igneous rocks?
kicyunya [14]

That is because metamorphic rock is formed by parent rocks that are either sedimentary rock or igneous rocks and we can use the former rock type to distinguish the type of metamorphic rock, marble was igneous rock exposed to high pressure or temperature.

While the other two type of rocks are formed initially by sedimentation and volcanic movements and has no parent rocks.

5. At high altitudes is the sky above a deeper blue or a pale blue versus lower altitudes?
lisov135 [29]
The sky is pale blue in higher altitudes while it is deeper blue in lower altitudes. This is because there is more air molecule closer to earth surface (as a result of higher air pressure) than higher altitudes. The air molecules are responsible for scattering of sunlight hence giving the sky its blue hue. The more the air molecules the more the scattering.
