A government is laissez-faire when it
s344n2d4d5 [400]

Original Question: A government is laissez-faire when it?

Answer: does not interfere with business affairs and does not regulate its actions

Explanation: Laissez-faire is an economic term that economists use when describing an unregulated market

An unregulated market in being the fact that the government doesn't involve us in the business world.

Its benefit is that allows for substantial growth in the industry as businesses are not bound by rules and regulations could increase the cost and decrease their efficiency.

However it is unbeneficial when businesses began to set up 'monoplies' and 'set inadequate working standards' that harm other businesses and workers. That is when the government would step in to regulate the market and break the laissez-faire terms on how to run a market.

Hope that helps!

How do historical documents and various laws/amendments impact the growth of democratic rights and ideals
Andrew [12]

Answer: The Bill of Rights is the name given to the first 10 amendments to the US Constitution.

The Bill of Rights consists of guarantees of civil liberties and checks on state power; it was added in order to convince states to ratify the Constitution.

Explanation: By the time the Constitutional Convention met in Philadelphia in 1787, it had become clear to many American leaders that a more powerful federal government was necessary in order to effectively deal with the challenges facing the young nation.

Under the Articles of Confederation, the central government had neither the power to raise taxes nor the authority to regulate interstate commerce. Additionally, there was no established mechanism through which states could adjudicate conflicts. Many of the delegates to the Constitutional Convention understood that the Articles of Confederation would need to be supplanted entirely, not merely revised.

To this end, the delegates spent months debating and shaping the scope and contours of a new and more powerful federal government.

How was the Netherlands more democratic than most seventeenth-century European nations
KiRa [710]

The Netherlands is more democratic than most seventeenth-century European nations in certain ways. These are:

 • The country operates a confederacy which gives each state or province a huge level of freedom.
 • During this period anybody can win the position of the province leader.
 • This position is known as a stadtholder.
 • Unlike other European nations at this period that are operating monarchical style of government.
 • Also, the Netherlands, at this point was using a republic form of government.
