Why were there conflicts between farmers and cattlemen in the West during the 1800s? Cattlemen intruded on unfenced farmlands. C
lara [203]

Answer:

The right answer is:

Cattlemen intruded on unfenced farmlands.

Explanation:

Conflicts happened in many states. There were the so-called the Fence Cutting Wars. At some point, cattlemen started to use barbed wire to fence their lands; farmers or smaller cattlemen saw this as improper taking of public lands and an obstacle to roads and began cutting the fences.

Why do the Nazis want the Nazi-Soviet Nonaggression Pact?
VladimirAG [237]

They wanted to invade Poland.

Explanation:

Germany, ruled by Hitler during this time, wanted to essentially take over Europe and spread Nazism. Hitler wanted to keep expanding and he wanted to expand into Poland as well.

On August 23, 1939, Germany and the Soviet Union had signed a non-aggression pact called the German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact. This meant that they had signed an agreement not to attack each other for ten years.

Hitler signed this non-aggression pact because he wanted to be able to invade Poland without fighting the Soviet Union. He knew he would have to be fighting the forces from Great Britain and France on the west and didn't want his east to be fighting him as well.

Why does Menelaus still value and accept Helen, even though her elopement with Paris led to the Trojan War?
DanielleElmas [232]

Answer:

Menelaus still values and accepts Helen because she is still very beautiful, he also blames the gods for her actions and not her.

Explanation:

Helen is the most beautiful woman in the world and that was why Paris wanted her.

Although Helen went with Paris willingly, the legend tells us that it was at the will of Aphrodite, who promised Paris the love of the most beautiful woman in the world in exchange for a golden apple. (The apple itself wasn't really important as it was a contest between Aphrodite, Hera, and Athena to see who was the most beautiful goddess.) So, invariably the decision to go with Paris was not Helen's fault but the blame rests with the gods who made her do it.

How will the war in ukraine affect the united states.
klio [65]

As this is up to interpretation as the war hasn't progressed far enough to provide a clear answer, I am going to give the best / worst case scenario.

Best case scenario, Putin realizes that what he is doing is irrational and calls off the invasion, and Russia deals with the economic consequences.

Worst case scenario, Putin keeps pushing the war until foreign countries get involved, possibly triggering Article 5 of NATO, causing WWIII and most likely ending in nuclear war.

What I believe / hope is going to happen is that is becomes more of a cold war where there is no direct conflict outside of Ukraine and Russia / Belarus until Russia gives up.
