The Bermuda Triangle is an enigma because it is a puzzling phenomena that people believe or question whether or not it exists. The Bermuda Triangle is a region in the Southern Atlantic Ocean where strange disappearances are believed to have happened over many years. These strange occurrences have not been fully resolved and therefore people speculate that some unique force is a work in this area. Due tot he lack of resolution, continued questioning, and strange occurrences this could be considered an enigma. An enigma by definition is a situation that is puzzling or it cannot be explained.

Answer:

  • The topic of the discussion is the general idea that it is focused around.
  • The audience is who it is aimed at, think about gender, age, race and social class. You can normally determine this by the topic and the language used.
  • The purpose is the reason for the discussion, is it to inform, persuade or advise.
  • Level of formality is basically how relaxed or polite it is, very formal would be something like a business proposal and very informal is like just talking to your best mate.
