I’m not sure of exactly what you’re looking for... but I am familiar with some of those questions and I do have some answers. I am willing to give you what I know...

Q1: Why did Jacobs finally decide to escape?

A: Harriet finally decided that it was necessary to escape when Dr. Flint told her he was going to send her and the children to the plantation.


Q2: What does Harriet do after she leaves the norcom's plantation?

A: Harriet runs away. She conceals herself in a small attic above a storeroom of her grandmother’s home.


Q3: Why does Linda give herself to mr sand's? How does Dr flint react to Linda's pregnancy?

A: Mr. Sands promises to take care of her and her children.

Q4: What is the purpose of the author in writing this book?

A: The author's purpose in writing the book was to create an awareness of the women held in bondage and their subsequent treatment.
