“Jim Crow era”, vigorous 89 years old, refers to the time when this practice took place. The most important laws required public schools and most public places (including trains and buses) to have separate facilities for whites and blacks. One could not confuse Jim Crow's Laws with the so-called Black Codes, which restricted the freedoms and civil rights of African Americans. The state-sponsored school segregation was declared unconstitutional in 1954. All other Jim Crow laws were repealed in 1964, by what he calls (Civil Rights Act), thus being able to say that there is no more Jim Crow racist system in the United States, where blacks, approximately 10% of its population.
