Why are central Africa’s natural resources underdeveloped
Anastaziya [24]

The second assumption is that there is something exceptional about Africa, that while other continents and peoples have got or are getting richer, Africans, for reasons we can think but no longer speak in polite company, choose to remain in poverty. Our capacity to see Africa as divergent lets us off the hook so we don’t have to understand our own complicity in the challenges various African countries face today. It also means we rarely rage as we should against the actions of the corporations and governments that profit from instability, corruption or even inexperience (African negotiators at the climate talks have historically been disadvantaged by their lack of experience and the expectation among western negotiators that they should be grateful with whatever they get).

If there is, then, no innate propensity for corruption, violence or poverty in Africa, then the narratives that fuel the stereotypes need questioning. One possible explanation comes from the Nigerian author Chinua Achebe, who said: “The west seems to suffer deep anxieties about the precariousness of its civilisation and to have a need for constant reassurance by comparison with Africa.” Perhaps it’s not Africa that needs saving, but us.

More than 75 percent

Explanation:

Let us carefully analyze this problem:

The half life of the rubidium isotope = 50 billion years

   The half-life of a radioactive isotope is the time it takes for it to decay to half of its original amount.

  Every 50years, we know that a rubidium isotope would split into half.

Initially when the isotope was formed, we would only have the parent atoms there. There wont be any daughter;

  ratio of parent to daughter = 100 : 0

When the isotope decays to half; we would have equal number of parent and daughter:

  ratio of parent to daughter at half life = 50 : 50

The age of the earth is about 4.6billion years;

this is;

          \frac{4.6}{50} x 100 = 9.2% of the half-life of the rubidium isotope.

At this time, we should know that only 9.2 percent of the daughter would have been formed.

The remaining parent would be 100 - 9.2 = 90.8% would still be left undecayed.

The ratio of parent to daughter = 90.8 : 9.2

This is more than 75% of the parent

What is frost weathering?

Frost weathering is physical weathering that involves freezing and thawing of waters in an area with extremely cold weather. When water freezes its size expands and damages the area.

Its best example is when water collects in small in a rock then freezes. The expansion of the water while frozen causes the rock to break into pieces.
