Read the excerpt from Eighty Years and More: Reminiscences, 1815-1897. I still recall, too, going into the large darkened parlor

to see my brother, and finding the casket, mirrors, and pictures all draped in white, and my father seated by his side, pale and immovable. As he took no notice of me, after standing a long while, I climbed upon his knee, when he mechanically put his arm about me and, with my head resting against his beating heart, we both sat in silence, he thinking of the wreck of all his hopes in the loss of a dear son, and I wondering what could be said or done to fill the void in his breast. Which question would best help the reader understand Stanton’s viewpoint in this excerpt?

Stanton felt depressed that his brother was dead, and his father was sorrowful, and he wanted to know how to help his dad in his time of need.

So the question asked should be:

<em>Seeing that his father is depressed, how can he help the situation by making both he (for he is sad too) & his father hope for a better future, and cope with the situation?</em>

hope this helps

What does the ending of the story named a letter to god tell about Lincho
SIZIF [17.4K]

This question seems to be incomplete. However, there is enough information to find the right answer.

Answer:

In the end, Lencho seems to be ungrateful and even accuses the people from the post office of having stolen his money, because he´s unaware that it was them, and not God, who gave him money.

Explanation:

In the story "A Letter to God," by G.L. Fuentes, Lencho is a farmer whose entire crop yield has been damaged by a hailstorm and decides to write a letter to God asking for 100 pesos to sow his field again. When the postmaster discovers Lencho´s letter, secretly collects some money for him, but is not the full amount Lencho had asked for. In the end, Lencho writes another letter for God, asking for the full amount, and accusing the people from the post office of having stolen part of his money, showing that he´s ungrateful and unaware of who are the people actually trying to help him.

Mumz [18]

Answer:

B. Lenore was the speaker’s lover but she has recently died.

Explanation:

In the narrative poem "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe, the speaker/ narrator of the poem is in heartbreaking and lonely mood, who was still in the mourning phase of his life. He was in "<em>sorrow for the lost Lenore</em>" who had died recently, leaving him devastated and unable to move on.

The visit by the raven at night makes him more distraught, continuously thinking of his Lenore and if by any chance, there is "<em>a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore</em>".
