A protectorate is an autonomous territory that is protected either by diplomatic means or military means by a state that is stronger than the autonomous territory. In return, the protectorate accepts certain obligations from the stronger state, but it still seen in the international community as sovereign. A colony is a state that is under immediate control of a stronger state and has no say whatsoever in it's own politics, economics and society, as that is under the control of the stronger state.

What would life be like without the 1st Amendment?
Talja [164]

Answer:

Our lives would be ENTIRELY different. "The First Amendment states: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” This shows that different religions would be unacceptable and freedom of speech wouldnt really be there. Hope this helps :)
