Whichever way it is, it manages to get the landform further above and further away from the sea. The marine terraces have once been on level with the sea waters, which is why they have sharp slopes. As the sea level drops, or the land lifts up, or maybe both, the marine terrace emerges above the sea, having very steep slope from the side of the sea, but being relatively flat on top, giving rise to a beautiful and interesting geographical feature.
