This was my very last homework question and i'm stumped.<br> log_4(x+1)-log_4(x)=3
mixas84 [53]

\log_4(x+1)-\log_4x=3 \qquad(x>0)\\ \log_4\dfrac{x+1}{x}=3\\ \dfrac{x+1}{x}=4^3\\ \dfrac{x+1}{x}=64\\ x+1=64x\\ 63x=1\\ x=\dfrac{1}{63}

Side lengths of a triangle 5x-1 and 4x+1
m_a_m_a [10]
You aren't sharing much information (no directions??).

If your triangle is a right triangle AND 5x-1 and 4x+1 represent the lengths of the 2 shortest sides, then the Pyth. Theorem tells us that

(5x-1)^2 + (4x+1)^2 = (hypotenuse length)^2.

We know that this could not be an equilateral triangle, because 5x-1 differs from 4x+1.

This could be an isosceles triangle if the third side were either 5x-1 or 4x+1.

Please be more specific about what you're supposed to do here.

Answer: The area of Figure ABCDE is 79.5 square units.

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>Triangle ABC is the top triangle of Figure ABCDE.</em>

<u>Triangle ACD is the triangle on the right of Figure ABCDE.</u>

Triangle AED is the triangle on the bottom left of Figure ABCDE.

So, we need to add <em>23.85</em>, <u>29.4</u>, and 26.25 to get the area of Figure ABCDE!

23.85 + 29.4 + 26.25 = 79.5
