The Cold War affected American males who were approaching their eighteenth birthday due to military enlistment or draft in which males in eighteen or up years of age are required to enter. Due to a decrease of military personnel after World War II and the fear of possible war between Soviet Union and the United States, President Truman issued a military draft to prepare for the possible war.
