Can someone tell me what plains are? (the landform) and just a bunch of facts about plains.
Marizza181 [45]

Answer: In geography, a plain is a flat, sweeping landmass that generally does not change much in elevation. Plains occur as lowlands along valleys or on the doorsteps of mountains, as coastal plains, and as plateaus or uplands.

In a valley, a plain is enclosed on two sides, but in other cases a plain may be delineated by a complete or partial ring of hills, by mountains, or by cliffs. Where a geological region contains more than one plain, they may be connected by a pass (sometimes termed a gap). Coastal plains would mostly rise from sea level until they run into elevated features such as mountains or plateaus.

Plains are one of the major landforms on earth, where they are present on all continents, and would cover more than one-third of the world's land area. Plains may have been formed from flowing lava, deposited by water, ice, wind, or formed by erosion by these agents from hills and mountains. Plains would generally be under the grassland (temperate or subtropical), steppe (semi-arid), savannah (tropical) or tundra (polar) biomes. In a few instances, deserts and rainforests can also be plains.

Plains in many areas are important for agriculture because where the soils were deposited as sediments they may be deep and fertile, and the flatness facilitates mechanization of crop production; or because they support grasslands which provide good grazing for livestock.

Why is using fossil fuels sustainable
xxTIMURxx [149]

Answer:Causes of Global warming

Explanation:

Where are the extra Green house gases coming from?

Most scientist think that human activities such as burning fossil fuels, using cars and other vehicles ,and clearing forest have increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. There are green house gases in our atmosphere,e.g. water vapor , carbon dioxide , methane nitro us  dioxide and ozone.

They absorb heat from Sun rays and radiate in all directions, which warm's the Earth. The Earth could become too hot and this causes climate change which has a lot of effects on Earth. Earth's dry regions will become more drier and wet regions will become more wetter e.g.

What natural process did the massive amount of material in the atmosphere halt or stop?
zysi [14]

Based on the meteorological analysis, the natural process in which the massive amount of material in the atmosphere halt or stops is known as the "GreenHouse Effect."

This is because GreenHouse Effect is a natural process that occurs in the earth's atmosphere.

The GreenHouse Effect occurs when Sun’s radiation comes in contact with the Earth’s atmosphere.

During the contact, some of the massive solar radiation is stopped or halted and returned to space.

The rest of this massive solar radiation, however, is taken and re-radiated by the greenhouse gases.

Greenhouse gases include water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, ozone, etc.

Hence, in this case, it is considered that GreenHouse Effect is a significant occurrence or process in the Earth's existence.
