eimsori [14]

Answer:

The Lucknow Pact was an agreement reached between the Indian National Congress and the Muslim League (AIML) at a joint session of both the parties held in Lucknow in December 1916. Through the pact, the two parties agreed to allow representation to religious minorities in the provincial legislatures.

Explanation:

Rowlatt Act

The Anarchical and Revolutionary Crimes Act of 1919, popularly known as the Rowlatt Act, was a legislative council act passed by the Imperial Legislative Council in Delhi on 18 March 1919, indefinitely extending the emergency measures of preventive indefinite detention, incarceration without trial and judicial review enacted in the Defence of India Act 1915 during the First World War. It was enacted in light of a perceived threat from revolutionary nationalists to organisations of re-engaging in similar conspiracies as during the war which the Government felt the lapse of the Defence of India Act would enable.

The candle symbolize in the above excerpt from Leo Tolstoy's The Death of Ivan Ilyich is death.

Answer: Option D

Explanation:

Leo Tolstoy was the greatest Russian writer and author of all time. It is considered that he's having secret a unique way of writing. In his work, "The death of Ivan Ilyich" he used the image of dark and light. He referred the candle to symbolize his imminent death of Ivan in the story.

Ivan was sick for a long and his life is approaching death as soon as possible. In this line, he explained about the view of life and death. In the darkness, there was huge pain due to the illness. So he tried to light the candle as it extinguishes so as his life.

Thus he can be really free from the pain and he tried to light the candle up. He failed and kept on falling into the darkness again. Also, there is the true essence of light in the candlelight. That is there is a light after death since his life in the physical world has ended. That, in turn, leads a path towards the Spiritual world.

How did the attacks of Sept. 11th, 2001 change the world that we all live in today?
Margarita [4]

Answer:

Answer:

Two hijacked planes smashed into the World Trade Center buildings in New York City on September 11, 2001. A third plane collided with the Pentagon, and a fourth airliner was shot down in a Pennsylvania field by brave passengers attempting to stop the terrorists. A large number of people were injured, and a large number of people killed. This was an extraordinary attack that shocked the entire world.

The American people have changed in the way that we do not trust so easily and can sometimes feel fearful now of other cultures. After the terrorist attack on September 11th, America was never the same. For one, air travel completely changed. The al Qaeda hijackers were able to pass airport security, board the plane with no issues, and then force themselves into the cockpit. It was clear that America’s security failed and was not at the level it should have been at. This all changed when the Transportation Security Administration was created and authorized by the United States Congress in November of that year. With the TSA came new regulations that are what we see today. TSA requires photo IDs to pass through the screening area, shoes need to be removed, carry on liquids can only be in three-ounce containers, and one needs to pass through full-body scanners. They have also been trained to detect signs of suspicious behavior. I believe that students should be taught this when they can understand the seriousness of this event that occurred. The event should be taught as it happened. There is no reason to make the event less of what it was. They should talk about the ones who suffered, the ones who gave their lives for others, and the families and friends who lost someone. It is important to teach this event that changed America forever. I think the memorial is very appropriate and it is good to honor and remember those who lost their lives. This is especially important for the ones who lost someone in their lives.
