A river meeting the ocean. The river spreads into a triangular shape.
jeyben [28]

When a river meets an ocean and spreads into what looks like a triangular shape, the landform or body of water being created is called a Delta.

Deltas are:

 • Formed at the point where a river meets another body of water
 • Formed such that they have a triangular shape
 • Caused by water erosion

Deltas take a triangular shape at the mouth of a river when the river is meeting a water body such as a lake or ocean.

They form because of water erosion resulting from when the river picks up soil particles and carries them to its mouth where they are deposited and obstruct the flow of water thereby creating a delta.

In conclusion, erosion causes a delta to form when water carries soil and deposits it at its mouth.

EXPLAIN 5 ways that latitude can impact our lives.
miskamm [114]

Answer:

Explanation:

Latitude is basically the measurement of distance on a map of the earth's surface location of north or south of the Equator which is expressed in angular measurements from 0 degrees at the Equator to 90 degrees (i.e 90° North or 90° South). Latitudes are used interwoven with longitude.

Latitude can impact our lives in various ways:

Help in pinpointing the exact location of each point on the earth which allows human beings to know where we are.

Helps in determining the climatic situation of a region due to their geographic location

Extremely important for/in GPS

Helps in determining times (zone)and dates

Extremely useful for many fields that deal with the earth and outer space to some extent such as astronomy in their astronomical observations, geologist, etc, and sailors to navigate.

Imagine you are studying the seafloor spreading along two different ocean ridges. Along the first ridge the magnetic stripes are
emmasim [6.3K]

Answer:

As explained below.

Explanation:

 • The earth tectonic history is created over these plate boundaries and these plates are a result of the formation of the earth crust which is recycled every year due to the mid-oceanic ridges that spread the lava on both sides of ridges
 • These lava adapt to the same geomaterial properties i.e there crystals capture the magnetic properties on the earth, so along the ridges the stipe of ridges are uniformly narrow, and thus as we move away from the magnetic stripes becomes older and aged in structure hence these are younger near the ridges due to the continuous upwelling of lava.
 • History of plate tectonic is can be seen through the thermodynamic decay which is a process of plates motion and evolution, where the crust is destroyed in trenches and is again formed from the mantel that is considered a molten rock.
