Alrighty, positive divided by negative=negative so the end result is negative
disregard sign for now

convert to improper fractions

2 and 1/2=2+1/2=4/2+1/2=5/2
1 and 3/4=1+3/4=4/4+3/4=7/4

so
(2 and 1/2)/(1 and 3/4)=(5/2)/(7/4)=(5/2)(4/7)=20/14=10/7=7/7+3/7=1+3/7=1 and 3/7

but don't forget the sign is negative so -1 and 3/7

Solve the y for the equation 5x-2y=10
eduard

Answer:

y = 5/2x - 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Write equation

5x - 2y = 10

Step 2: Solve for <em>x</em>

  1. Subtract 5x on both sides: -2y = 10 - 5x
  2. Divide both sides by -2: y = -5 + 5/2x
  3. Rewrite: y = 5/2x - 5

Graph the line with slope 1/2<br> passing through the point (-4,1).
dem82 [27]

Answer:

from (-4,1) the line will go up to (-2,2) then (0,3)

Step-by-step explanation:

the slope 1/<em>2</em> dictates that the line will go up by 1 unit for every <em>2</em> units, then we just plot said line from the point given (<em>-4</em>,1) where we go up y by 1 and we go left on <em>x</em> by <em>2</em>

image could not be provided at this time, tho the line will have a slope that is between horizontal and increasing (to the left) at roughly 30 degrees ish

An equation for the depreciation of a car is given by y = A(1-r)^twhere y = current value of the car, A = original cost, r = rat
NemiM [27]

Answer: The car is 6.6 years old.

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi, to answer this question we have to replace the values in the equation given:

Y = 1/2 (half the value)

A = 1 (total value)

r =10% = 0.10 (decimal form)

Replacing:

y = A(1-r)^t

1/2 = 1 (1-0.10)^t

Solving for t:

(1/2)/1 = 0.9^t

1/2 = 0.9^t

log 1/2 = log 0.9^t

log 1/2 = (t) log 0.9

(log 1/2)/ log 0.9 = t

6.57 =t

6.6 years (rounded)
