Boys and gilrs were expected o absorb the comunitys values, including stoicism the the face of hardship, and o also master there skills in hunting and to thrive and survive. Men were being tought to get ready for warfare and as for the women they were toaught to collecting plants and making households. These young powhatan boys were tried by there fathers our close relatives all so that when it comes down to wage war they can obtain a personal name.
