As I conductor, you would see many abused slaves escaping from the U.S to go to Canadian territory. Help would be the smallest thing I could give to the slaves taking in all the abuse they had been running from, and being hunted down to the point where not many made the trip. If Harriet or anyone else hadn't helped them, it would affect today's Canadian population and culture given that when Slaves arrived the started new traditions. Influencing the entire country.
