What is the definition of chemical weathering?

Biology
1 answer:
Zepler [3.9K]4 years ago
7 0
Chemical weathering refers to the erosion or total disintegration of rocks that are caused by chemical reactions and not by mechanical processes. Usually water and other liquid substances causes this to occur. Skyscrapers or buildings are prone to chemical weathering because they are constantly exposed to precipitation and other elements in the atmosphere. In rocks, when this process happens they tend to crumble and form smaller rock pieces. It is important to note that during this stage, the end product is a totally different substance than its original phase.

What does a positive test for simple sugars look like?
timofeeve [1]

Answer:

Green, red or orange

Explanation:

Benedict's solution is used to test for simple sugars, such as glucose. It is a clear blue solution of sodium and copper salts. A potion of sugar solution is added an equal amount of benedict's solution and heated to boil. In the presence of simple sugars, the blue solution changes color from blue to green, yellow, and red, depending on the amount of sugar.  When the solution turns to orange, it indicates that there is presence of reducing sugars.
