Imagine that you could travel back in time to either Fort King George or Fort Frederica at
Rzqust [24]

Answer:

1. I would visit Fort Frederica because it was meant to protect the southern boundary of his new colony of Georgia from the Spanish in Florida. It also was supported by many colonists. Many also said it was beautiful. The purpose of the Georgia colony was not as ambitious, so it was more peaceful.

According to Robert Merton, ________ are the intended beneficial consequences of people's actions.
goldenfox [79]

Answer:

C. Manifest functions are the intended beneficial consequences of people's actions.

Explanation:

Robert Merton's theory suggest there are functions and dysfunctions:

  • A manifest function is an intentional function of social policies, actions and procedures designed to be beneficial and helpful to society.
  • A latent function is still beneficial but not intended consciously.
  • Dysfunctions are unintended and harmful, so they are complete <em>opposite</em> to functions.

Why can't canada prime minister run for the country as a dictator
azamat
The constitution has been mentioned by many people so far. Sure. That does answer your question in a literal sense. However, which dictators throughout history have ever cared about the laws in their country?

Besides laws and the constitution, what many Canadians would be reluctant to mention is the fact that there are 38+ million people in Canada, many of whom are armed. The prime minister is just one person. Sure, they control the military, but Canada is huge! Armed civilians using guerilla tactics would be a serious challenge for Canada's military, even if they backed the would be dictator, which I think would be unlikely, especially by a majority.

Just to be clear to our southern neighbours, we don't need “the 2nd” to defend ourselves from a would be dictator. We are just fine. And we have lots of guns.
